RIP Terence Rigby

One of the best 'heavies' around - which combined with his particular talent for Pinter always made him immensely watchable. Rigby always created a threatening, looming, brooding presence, and his Watson against Tom Baker's Holmes in The Hound of the Baskervilles was a wonderful example of playing against the text. I love Beiderbecke (we have the boxed set), and Big Al was just brilliant.

I'm thinking of writing to my MP to ask for a posthumous honour for the lady who played Amy Turtle. I also think we ought to be ashamed that the man who played Shooey McPhee (not sure how it was spelt) with such deft aplomb and never once veering into stereotype hasn't been given a knighthood ;-)

I loved the Beiderbeck Affair and love watching it again now - partly because Barbara Flynn's voice is so superb and partly because I love place spotting.
