Best of Series 2 (Part 1)

To get my mind off the not so far away Christmas Special, I'm rehashing season 2. One favourite scene for every episode.
Children In Need Special
More like favorite moment for this mini episode. Or not. Honestly, if I was going for favorite moment, this pic would show when the Doctor retells Rose the story of how they met. But crazy!Doctor ist too cute to ignore!
2.00 The Christmas Invasion
Close call between Jackie and the Christmas tree, the Doctor's first appearance on the Sycorax's ship, chosing a new outfit plus the Christmas dinner and this one. Still, this one's a classic and rightly so. It's sets up the coming episodes AND has snow (ok it's not snow, who cares?) in it. I love snow! On top of it all, standing in the snow, getting reaquinted and chosing the next planet is such a beautiful thing to do.
2.01 New Earth
This was easy. I couldn't stop laughing just now, when I went through it frame by frame to get the pic. Clicking forwards and backwards... and again... and why not one more time?
2.02 Tooth and Claw
I admit it, I'm biased. I'm sneaking in one more pic of cute!Doctor. I bet, if I showed it to 10 people who don't know the scene, not one of them would guess he was looking at a werewolf, who was smashing his cage and was generally putting everybody in mortal danger. It might as well be me favourite scene of the episode.
2.03 School Reunion
Doesn't it look stagy? There are lots of great scenes in this episode, but the first encounter after so many years beats them all. Runner-ups are the 'Why it isn't so pleasant to be a Time Lord'-scene and the 'Top 10 weird things the Doctor does by Rose and Sarah Jane'-scene.
2.04 The Girl in the Fireplace
This beats the horse after behind the Doctor, the French partying, the death of Madame de Pompadoure and everything else I forgot. For me this was the key to understanding the Doctor, building on what the previous episode had already established. A terrible, all encompassing loneliness. It also paved the way to the series finale being heart-breakingly sad.
Oh well, I didn't make it through the whole series today. Got to get up early tomorrow. As I'm absolutely enjoying this best of, there will be a part 2.
