Quality Street are for old people what about Heros or something similar. Why didn't they just give you all a cheque each instead of paying it in your pay. Well it's better than nothing - we get nothing :-(

> Quality Street are for old people

Are you saying you want them?

writing cheques cost money. Adding it to the standard BACS payroll run is cheaper.

As for your bonus - I pay enough tax already. In fact, I've just paid even more, so that's rather a sore point at the moment!

Mmm, I totally get that, it does seem some people live in their own little world, of maybe about 30 years ago when £50.00 was worth a hell of a lot more than it is now.

joebunny chocolates are chocolates, who cares what type lol.

Cash in a brown paper envelope, that's the only way to go really, umm yeah joebunny you're right, any bonus would be good!!

how do you work that out?

Christmas bonus has gone up less than 10% (taking the cost of a tin of quality street to be £4.50 from Tesco's), where as petrol has gone up nearly 40% in the same period.

Strictly speaking, the bonus should have gone up in-line with the cost of christmas

Ah. I thought your bonus was £25 in 2004. On closer reading, last time you compared with the bonus after tax and this time with the bonus before tax.

Maybe you should mention that Quality Street is Nestlé and start kicking up a fuss about the baby-milk scandal? :-p
