"Gay" and "lesbian" are not pejorative words, but choices that people make. For them, it's about acceptance, respect, and the dignity with which others are treated.

my thesis made me realize that gender is a social construct. society dictates that your genitalia must dictate your sexual preference and sexual behavior when in fact it can be deviated.

eve sedgewick...read her hehehe. she's the momma of gay/lesbian studies
