Agreed on both the corn nuts and oysters (though I only had one oyster, ONCE when I was forced to "try something new" at the age of ten). It really did feel like a big loogie. Blech.

Glad to see you posting again! :)

Same here...My dad and grandmother made me try them because I was complaining that they looked gross. Maw-maw said "Don't knock it until you try it" and dad shucked one for me. It got a little past the tip of my tongue before I spit it out, and even spitting it out was gross. it was like one big wet, juicy booger. Yuck!

Corn Nuts just hurt my teeth. and I don't like super hard french bread. That hurts my gums. I like my french bread nice and soft...and hot...with butter.

I hate it when I get an oyster mixed in with my fried shrimp. BLARGH! I wish I liked oysters, though, because on the half shell, they look quite refreshing.

i tried oysters on the half shell...and they are very much like gulping down something the consistency of that green slime stuff you get when you're a kid. just a bit salty and potentially crunchy if you find a pearl.
Not something you forget soon when you're about 7 years old and impressionable.

*HUGS*
