cave story completely rawked my socks off when I had it awhile back. I must've cleared it about....*cant really rememer an exact number so will just say alot*
originally I found it a bit hard due to the fact I was using a keyboard but once I got my ps2 controller on there it was much easier.
Cant believe how well it works on the controller, there need to be more games out there like this

Yeah, it's truly amazing with a controller, feels like a real old school console game. XD I must admit, I had put it down for quite a while. Blu3fox introduced it to me forever ago, but I got stuck on that stupid tank boss in the sand zone place and put it down for a long while. >_<

Interesting stuff though, A guy that goes by RavenWorks is porting it to the DS, and I hear there is a PSP port in the works as well. ^_^

err.... yeah, ^_^; forgot to post a link to the DS build. Just in demo form now, and you need something like an R4 to play it, but still....

Hm. Okay, I'm interested. I'll look into it later :)

Also, got me curious: how would I go about playing it with my 360 controller? x)

If you have a wired Xbox 360 contoller it's easy, just need to download the drivers for the controller and you're good to go. Just go here... (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/download.mspx)

Then for the first step select "controllers"

For step two select "Xbox 360 controller for Windows"

Step three, select your operating system..

And finally select your prefered language. ^_^

Download and install!

Wireless controllers are a bit tricker, you have to buy a wireless reciever for your PC for the controller to sync up to, but you can still use 'em.

Awesome. Wireless, though, so I need a receiver, but I'll look into that eventually x)

Apparently they're selling for about $20 on Amazon, and according to the site, if you buy a "wireless Xbox 360 controller for Windows" it comes with a reciever. They're currently on sale cheaper than you can get a standard wireless controller for X360.

It is indeed an awesome game. :3 I beat it a while ago, then went back and beat it again, keeping the Mimiga mask on, just to see what would happen in the credits. ^^

I want to go through it again and get some of the other weapons... and see if I can manage to actually SAVE Curly this time >_< That was depressing.

Cave Story has to be one of my favorite 2D games ever. I mean, besides the free thing, the game is just a lot of fun -- it's a really basic concept but it's such an imaginative, well-made game that we don't care. I have two overClocked remixes of Cave Story tracks on my iPod. They are both amazing.
