Hum, so I've found a pattern in the guys I talk to. It's funny actually. The guys I talk to will go around spouting their dislike for homosexuality and that they hate 'fags'. But the moment I tell them that I have no problem with it, they shut their mouths and tell me that they really don't mind all THAT much. So I have a question. Do guys ( Read more... )

I guess when the topic about gays...mostly guys are quite defensive and started saying that they never like fags and have a negative thoughts about homosexuality. That is just to make sure that they are not misunderstood for being one. Then when you say something like you don't mind about gays and homosexuality, they tend not to argue and definately they are impressing any girls. Anyway, my userpic is this gay dude from Inuyasha, Jakotsu. Long live rainbow pride. I am just gay friendly *looks at everyone defensively* HAHA!

Yeah, that was the first thing that came to my mind when I first realized what most guys I know think. And then I read Nostrademons's comment and that makes sense too. They both work perfectly well but this was just a really weird observation I made. I didn't watch Inuyasha enough to come across this guy. It just got so messy in the broadcasting here that I just gave up because I didn't know which episode came before or after another one.

Ahhh damn it!! You should have watch this episode 103. The way he lustfully said how kawaii Inuyasha is and how he liked killing good looking men. But pity, he had to die so sadly with one of his comrade betraying just to get the shard from him(he was one of band of seven that was resurrected by Naraku to make the journey more complicated for Inuyasha's gang). He's definately one of my favourite badass guy and he's quite funny too. Maybe I should sent you the fansub version that my friend burn for me. All 165 epi plus 4 movies. Can't help it. Me likey!!!

Hahaha, wow, you seem very enthusiastic about this anime. And it honestly didn't look all that great. I guess I shifted away from the whole anime thing after I started watching Bleach. But I still love Fruits Basket.

Shows you the power of peer pressure.

I suspect that most people don't care all that much. The vast majority of people are sensible folk that don't really give a damn what their neighbors do in the bedroom. So the issue of "gay rights" is something that they could go either way on.

But people do care about social approval. So the lone person who'll stand up regardless of what other people think and say "I think gays deserve every right straight people do" (or conversely, the one who'll stand up and say "I think gays are the spawn of Satan") wields quite a lot of power. It's like any other social situation: people swing over easily to the side their friends are on.

Hum, I find everything you say to be true until I take a look at the girls I know. The girls I meet tend to be very outfront about their standon gays. It's either this is different for the girls and guys I know or I just don't know enough girls. But either way, from my own experiences, guys have a stronger defensive nature when the topic of gays arise than the girls do. Of course, this can be very different when it comes to girls I don't know and guys I don't know.

Though I'm definitely not saying this about every guy I've spoken to. Some are very open and understand that it has nothing to do with who they're screwing, so let other people have their jollies however way they want to.
