Martinelli's is good. We always used to have it at family gatherings, to give the kids an alternative to champagne. All of the stores around here are packed with it, since nobody in this neck of the woods drinks alcohol.
I'm flying back to California to be with family. My grandmother is not feeling up to the traditional dinner, or the traditional excessive company for that matter, but I'll get to stop by for a little while and wish her a happy holiday at least.
That's nice. I personally like champagne and other alcohol too but this is the next best thing and a good alternative. In Germany we drink a lot of fruit juice + mineral water mixes by default so I feel right at home with Martinelli's. =)
I'm going to my cousin's house. Not looking forward to it really, because they're always so loud! But hey, as long as I have my plate of food I'm good.
The feasting is such a big part of it. Would you say Thanksgiving is more of an extended family thing and Christmas more about immediate family for most Americans? I was talking about it with a (German) friend who also lives here and it seems like big family gatherings with people flying in are more likely at Thanksgiving than Christmas? (Would make sense anyway as it's 2 days off + weekend while Christmas varies)
Yeah, I'd say that Thanksgiving is the bigger family day. Last Christmas, nobody even came to get me. I was stuck eating leftover pizza early and a meal my Aunt finally brought to me later that night. A very depressing day that was.
