Love South Africa, love Spain, Holland is familiar. And I work the same way, it changes constantly, haha. It's part of why I asked as I'm looking for inspiration. Really interesting to see what you all choose.
Hmmm, if I could go anywhere, I'd maximize it! I wanna go to Australia and tour the Continent. I'd also take a jaunt down to the Caribbean in the middle of January. Finally, I'd bounce over to Europe, probably go visit England. Gosh, only three? That's tough!
Australia is great in that beachy and city life way. I have trouble singling out just 3 too but really need to get going on my planning so I thought I'd ask you all for possible inspiration.
Have you ever been to Australia? Of course I haven't. lol I discovered that I've only been to twelve different cities of any size! I find that depressing, need to get out more.
Oh but that's more already than a lot of people can say! Yes, I've been to Australia. Fun place and I like the accent. Most of the Australians I've met over the years were either completely insane and bookish {not a bad thing}, or the exact opposite: surferlike, simple, easy-going {not a bad thing}. I'm still waiting to run into a true Crocodile Dundee character. *Snicker
Ohhhh, you must almost be ready to go now, how exciting. I have to catch up on everybody's journals, haven't read in a few days. Independence Day was yesterday and today, nobody wants to work. Portugal is cool, the Algarve coastline is so unique. Spain/Portugal would be a great combo.
I would say right now, the Turkish coast, because always been fascinated with Turkey and feel like the beach! Then Marrakech also seems interesting to me right now, and Cairo because I am feeling touristy! I want to take tours!
That's really interesting. We share the love for Africa and as it seems, Arabian/Muslim-inspired places. I've been in love with Northern and Eastern Africa from the time I first set foot on these places. It kind of runs in the family as well starting with my great grandfather. I so love these styles in homes and interior design too.
Chuuk is an interesting place. I don't know too much about the islands themselves, but the lagoon is supposed to be well worth flying to the other side of the world for. It was the main Japanese base in the South Pacific during WWII, and now there's a whole underwater museum of ships and planes overrun with marine life. Really cool.
I wish I could have gone to Iran last year, but it took a million years to process the visa for my good ol' US passport, of course. Oh well, another time.
