I've done the West. Twice over, actually. Did the East once as well, more recently. My favorite state is Utah, because the mountains and land forms are absolutely stunning to behold. Also, there are tons of dinosaur digs in Utah, and plenty of dinosaur museums and archaeological sites to keep you busy ( Read more... ) -

Incredible.
Simply incredible. Out of the entire reach of Hurricane Rita from Texas to Mississippi, only 2 lives were lost. One in Texas, and one in Mississippi. NO LOUISIANA RESIDENTS WERE KILLED BY RITA. None!
I'm relieved. -
Well, fuck.
Rita's a category 5 now. It's the 5th most intense hurricane on record. They've issued a mandatory evacuation of the entire Houston/Galveston area... and that means Katy too, where two of my best friends, mayor_anime and queen_beryl, had recently evacuated to from New Orleans just A FEW WEEKS EARLIER ( Read more... )
