Interesting AU bits, with Ty Lee being an airbender and Zuko and Mai not knowing each other ahead of time (I think) and everything. With all these people converging in the same place... this cannot end well. So excited.

Neither Mai nor Ty Lee grew up with Azula. They were both born in the Fire Nation capital, but their families moved to Whale Tail Island when they were both very young. Mai's father obviously became the governor, and Ty Lee's father runs the copper mine. But, yeah, I see Azula as being much more of a loner in this 'verse.

Actually, having Mai be the air bender was my original idea, but that story just wasn't working out, so Ty Lee got the forbidden bending. I haven't actually read that much Ty Lee is an air bender fic, but now that I think about it, what I've seen fits in with your categorization.
