Thanks :0) I love to sit out on the deck, to read and catch the breeze. The cats like to come out and I keep a container of grass for them to munch, instead of my flowers.

I think the partial shade of the tree may help. I also water them morning and night, everyday.

Gorgeous! (The plants on my deck are jealous of your plants!)

Thanks Craig, how are your plants and flowers coming along?

Hmmm, let's see. The back deck has petunias and impatiens which look fine. The verbena died within weeks of putting it out. My Aloe plant in the back seems to be doing well from the heat, although I put it out too early. My Sago Palm looks great. Overall, it's not bad, but nowhere near as beautiful as yours looks. You're in a more temperate area I guess. It's been 90+ degrees here for a couple of weeks.

I even lost a Japanese Maple in my front yard this year. :-(

I lost a verbena too. The weather was so irratic in may, pouring rain and cold nights did the poor thing in. I replaced it withe a Vine geranium. I think my plants are saved by the afternoon shade from the tree.
My neighbor does not get shade and his plants look like they should burst into flame at anytime.
