I loved my maternal Grandmother too! I was her favorite Grandchild until the birth of my youngest cousin. Interestingly, he looks a lot like me and is a lot like me in some ways. When I visit his parents I've had people in the neighborhood, seeming to think I'm him in drag. Or they think I'm his eldest sister. I suppose it's a compliment because I'm old enough to be his Mother.

For some reason people forget that cousins sometimes look more alike than siblings. I think it's a possibility of 25% identical DNA?

I've heard about my paternal one a little. I decided I did not like her when she kept sending me gifts for a BLOND little girl!

Even though I do not remember my paternal one, she did see me just a bit after I was born. I hear tell she liked my fat legs :D
Alas, she was a bit 'bent'... as she really made things hard on her kids (my dad and his two brothers).. from the stories I've heard, it was a rather antagonistic household... whereas things were a bit more quiet and staid at my mom's growing-up years..

I don't know. She died with half her family when I was around five. I always pictured her a short pudgy hispanic housekeeper type woman...turns out she was blond, looked a lot like me and was an actress type. I suspect she just wanted a blond Granddaughter
