I am so grossed out. The dinning hall food at Wells is disgusting. Yes, they serve the same 10 things over and over again, the meat bounces and everything is stale. But I'm talking about the sanitation. I've found a grub in the soda, moldy bagels, a used bandage in the chicken, and friends have found cocoons in the bananas and today, tons of ( Read more... )

wow. and i complain about greasy food night... BECCA! you HAVE to write someone! that's, honestly and trully, unsafe and not healthy at all. something has to be done!

I remember a particularly bad day at college where I spend several other subsequent days writhing in pain, all due to bad mayonaisse. For the years following, I insisted on going to the counter and requesting "mayo packets please" because I could not trust the mayo on the salad bar.

I'd suggest you bring a digital camera (yours or a friend) and send the pictures of bugs and other disgustingness to the local health inspector. Seriously.

I'm grateful that the cafeteria's at Bowdoin (where I work) are open to all staff as well. Add to that that Bowdoin is consistently ranked top 5 in food quality nationwide (number 2 2004, number 1 2003) makes for some decent eating. Our students do have it good. It seems like someone at Wells just simply isn't watching for basic cleanliness.

Complain. Loudly, often and widely. Give your pictures to the school newspaper, the local paper, everyone. I hope it gets better for you.
