My philosophy professor is making me crazy. I really want to drop the class. It's too late to take it credit / no credit so dropping is my only option left. So far my marks have been 2/5, 2.5/5, and 5.5/10. Most students did poorly on the first quiz and we had another quiz today that we felt we had done equally as bad on. This began a half hour ( Read more... )

Alright, that's really messed up about his comment to that girl. I don't think I knew anyone THAT heartless in college.

If things have been going that bad so far, and the chance of getting a desirable grade isn't possible (like a A or B), then yeah, maybe dropping it would be a good idea. If there's still a chance and you're really determined, then I'd say keep it. But from the looks of it, this class is really driving not just you, but a lot of people nuts, and also the prof being an ignorant ass, so maybe you should drop it. Maybe go to class the last few days before the deadline goes by and use those days to decide...then make ur call a day or two before so.

Good luck sweets...hope you make up your mind =)

I couldn't believe he said that to the girl that cut herself. He always seemed like a really cool teacher until that day, I think he felt like we were attacking him, but really if so many of the students never remember covering something in class... how can we all have forgotten the same pieces of information? He thinks everyone was just saying that because they were dissapointed with their scores. Anyway, I'm 99% sure I'm going to drop it. I don't need the class for my AA and can just retake it over the summer with a different instructor. I wanted to take the class for fun, because it seemed interesting, but apparently I don't have the time to put into it to get a good grade. I've never done so poorly in a class before and I just don't get it.

Thanks!

I dropped it :| It's a great relief as most of my workload was coming from that class and now I just get to focus on the classes I need to graduate. A few people have told me I should go complain to the dean of the department becuase he'll probably keep doing crap like that to other classes. I dunno though, I am chicken and keep second guessing myself
