I only knew of him secondhand (though extensively) as he was P(M)adrino to one of my closest friends, and she was always trying to arrange a meeting (in part, hoping Shloma would convince me to join Lukumi), which will sadly never come. By how shaken her and her boyfriend were at his death, it was a testament to the type of person he was.
