although your desire to change things in your life is commendable, I would encourage you to beware the number of times you use the word 'finally'.
I was going through my old journal and I could see myself doing the same thing, deceiving myself into thinking I was making progress when in reality, I was repeating the same mistakes over and over.
Talks are always good-- in fact, they're crucial for true change to occur. But make sure you don't leave it at that. For things to change in the world around you, things have to first change inside of you. Don't make this a battle with yourself over your will-- make it a rebuilding of who you are from the inside out, and you will see things begin to change from you. You'll find you won't have to resist old habits and scenarios, because they will be gone from your infrastructure, permanently.
I wish you luck with your continued exploration of your feelings concerning the people surrounding you daily. As Shakespeare put it, "O brave new world, that hath such people in it!"
