It's been a pretty long time since I read much hockey fic. I checked in recently and found this series you've been writing -- I must say I love what you're doing here. I am a huge fan of Vinny and Brad (and Vinny and Marty, whom I used to write myself). Thank you for bringing them back a bit here and moving them into the future. Oh how I love them

Thanks so much! I love Vinny and Brad together as well. They have so much history together (I'm still surprised there's not a ton more fic about them because of this), and I just ... *hearts in eyes*

I'm so glad people are picking up on the sad, destructive part to Vinny and Brad's relationship. It's that weird feeling of wanting to move on, but not really knowing how unless that one constant person is still there.

I have a lot of fun writing in this verse, and have a bit more planned, so there will be more.

There should be more Vinny and Brad. It's a shame there isn't -- especially during their heyday together. Have you ever read an old fic called "Summer Stars"? It covers their time in boarding school, Rimouski Oceanic, and a few earlier years in Tampa? It's quite good but hard to find now -- lots of great stories on old sites are disappearing.

These relationships are like a chain of three links: Caroline & Vinny, Vinny & Brad, and Brad & Henrik. If the middle link breaks, it's the easy way out. But with the history and the strength of that one, I wonder if it ever could. What would be amazing is if Caroline could ever accept Brad as part of Vinny, rather than his 'dirty little secret' of past and present. It can happen if she loves him enough to give him at times what she can't, namely Brad. The same with Hank; he knows about Vinny, and yet is falling deeper in love with Brad. Perhaps he, too, could accept Vinny as part of Brad, and understand their ancient and powerful bond, and allow them to have some time together. I'm always the optimist, and a firm believer that love conquers all. You have written a magnificent story. Two questions still in my mind are did Vinny fall in love with Caroline, or was Vinny giving in to the expectations of others? Which came first, Brad's trade or Caroline?

Brad and Vinny's relationship is one of those situations where you know you should (and can) move on, but you get stuck with not really knowing how if that one constant isn't there anymore.
