Sucks about the McDonald's thing. Sounds like they dropped the ball on the program, not you.

Have you thought about going and getting work through a temp agency? Sometimes doing work through them can turn into something permanent. At the least, it might be income while you search for something more permanent.

Pan's Labyrinth WAS excellent! The first time we tried to see it was the day it opened in theatres, and it was sold out for the whole day! People were lined up outside to see it! Very exciting when a foreign film gathers that much popularity.

Whatever happened to the CPD thing?

Other than that, I have many friends who have gone the temp agency route and really liked it. It pays pretty well, usually, and you could find permanent work that way.

What about a professional dog-walker? I also know that both Starbucks and Trader Joes treat their part-timers Extremely well! (even though it might not be a career necessarily, though it could be.) Just thoughts...

I am in GE on Saturday, Feb 3 for an eye appointment. Will you be around? Want to get together?

I'm still on the call list for the CPD- the next step is the physical exam, so I suppose I should use some of my newly found free time to get back into shape for that... it's just so much easier to sit around and be lazy ( ... )

thanks for your kind words on my lj, I thought i'd respond in kind. sorry it's a little late, I work 7 days a week now and can't always get on lj on the weekends. l a m e.
I can't give you career advice, but maybe you can run off and become a burlesque queen. or a princess. it sounds like fun.
funny-when i got your note I have to say my life is heading down a bit of the same way. i'm pretty sure i'm getting canned from my day job too (they're being asses and my job is on a help-wanted site.) we should have a pity party. it will be fun and we can catch up.
Pan's Labyrinth was beautiful. It was such a contrast of colors and moods and everything. love it. I suggest Children of Men if you haven't seen it.

Keep your chin up, kiddo. I'm here for ya even though we don't chitchat much, you're still on my mind.
