I enjoyed your review and I enjoyed this episode too! I find it a bit sad that there was so much ranting earlier about these two first episodes, because even if they were not perfect I think they are still taking the show in the right direction on Merlin/Arthur, Gwen, effects, even the story line in this last one

I still really enjoyed these episodes. I don't mock all that seriously and I do give credit for things I like. I personally think I'm quite soft compared to some people!
I really enjoyed the Mordred plot. I'm really not sure of what his actions are going to be from one minute to the next and think he's a brilliant addition to this season. I think because Merlin seems to be under so much stress, it's going to make his (justified?) paranoia towards Mordred really great to watch.
""the way Sir Leon burst through that door without knocking leads me to suggest he’s no stranger to the room. Who could blame Gwen? That scruffy hair, that large arsenal of weapons…he’s every dull girl’s dream."
LoL, that made me laugh, you are so mean! ;))"
I don't mean it really. I've loved Sir Leon since his first episode. He was a huge part of my reviews in season 2. He is a bit of a teacher's pet though ;)
Thank you very much for reading! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
certainly. When I said "ranting" I did not really mean your review here but rather some earlier reviews on this episode that were extremely negative. So just keep up the good "mocking"! :)
Mordred tells Merlin that Morgana is looking for the key…the key to all knowledge. Isn’t that Google?
Ha! Good one. Maybe the Diamair is ye olde Google or something like that. ;)
They’ve just finished eating some sort of meat. I wouldn’t like to speculate what, but I haven’t seen those wolves since the last episode.
RIP wolves. :(
I'm enjoying this older version of Mordred too. The actor's name is Alexander Vlahos (I had to look up how to spell his last name right...that's too easy to mess up). I'm looking forward to the Arthur/Merlin/Mordred dynamic. The tension and the drama and maybe a magic reveal (yeah, I know, the reveal seems wildly unrealistic, but I thought I would just throw it out there for kicks).
I was also miffed by Arthur not knowing Mordred's magic like we're supposed to forget that S1 episode where Arthur helped Mordred escape because he was magic. But then again, this is based on Merlin's words. But with all the knocks to the head Arthur has suffered, I wouldn't be surprised if he forgot that particular memory

Ah, thank you, Alexander's an easy name to remember, I'm sure I'll only get it wrong a few times ;).
I love how we all now look at the prospect of a magic reveal like it's some sort of mythical creature. It's kinda like Santa Claus. Years ago we all believed really strongly, but as time has gone on that belief as faded. Some people rule out the prospect all together and some people still leave some food out on Christmas Eve on the off chance.
Ha! I think with the severe concussion that Arthur has received over the years, it's actually not that unlikely that he wouldn't remember Mordred's magic. He must have the memory of a goldfish by now. He's just one in a long list of people that Uther had sentenced to death.
Soooo, I read this very late (still before ep. 5x03 though which my sis and I are about to watch now) - I enjoyed watching the last episode but right after it was finished I was sort of void of excitement about it... it was strange. I didn't have my ususal post-Merlin rush
