I wouldn't usually do this but it's still very flea-y out there and we're still treating Kenji and Elsie. The vet told me it's been bad at the surgery in the last few weeks, that even though the heat of summer has passed, the heating of our homes in winter stimulates flea eggs to hatch. The eggs can lie dormant in carpets for up to six months, he ( Read more... )

I treat Biddy with the Frontline spot on stuff- it's been the only thing that ever worked, i'm going to start on Tabitha as well once her dose she had at the RSPCA wears off. I don't like the idea of it, but i'm pretty allergic to flea bites and don't want to end up with an infested house (again). I hate the idea that pet shops sell animals, what I hate even more is that I sometimes go to Pets at Home with my sister to look at the rabbits...they don't sell cats or dogs (I don't remember the last time I saw a pet shop that did actually so it may not happen anymore) but they do sell fish and rodents. Actually they advertise cats and dogs that are available via rescue centres- they part sponsor them I think.

Err anyway, yeah! Don't buy cats and dogs from pet shops.

We haven't had fleas for ages (touch wood). I used to use Frontline but after one particularly mad, crazy flea infestation found it just didn't do the trick. Then I tried Frontline Plus and didn't think it was much better. These days I use Advantix and I think it's fucking GREAT - plus it protects against ticks and there's heaps up here.
I'm starting to think it might have something to do with the individual dog (or cat, I guess) with how well it works. I know people that rave about Frontline, but it just doesn't help my girls out at all.

And yeah...fuck puppy mills. Dirty fucking bastards.

I'll have to get back to you about Dr Harry. Need some time to think about it.
