Day from hell yesterday. Really needed a day off from organising my life and from dealing with increasingly stress-inducing parents who've been hovering around a bit lately. I was quite happy to tend to life itself, however, in the guise of family organisation and housewifely duties so it wasn't as if I needed to head to bed to escape it all,

o, i <3 Roxy Music! i almost bought a bunch of their LPs this weekend.

Oh, you should've - even just one! I've been so struck by influences I'd never heard in their music years ago. Influences or subtle similarities: Buzzcocks, T-Rex, Blondie. They happen to be 3 of my deadset favourites so it's been peachy to hear them sequestered in there between the other sounds. And no way would I have thought Roxy Music was anything like any of them, but distance provides perspective; there's rhythms, instrumentation and chord progressions that deffo remind me of those 3. Hey, I can also hear underpinnings of ELO! :D
