Why am I suddenly posting? Why, because I'm supposed to be packing, of course. I always mean to post to LJ, but it takes a deadline of two more days and half a house left to pack for me to sign in and actually do it

Are you saying you pwned me by 20 years? Btw, here's some fascinatin' rhythm: We use 'pwned' at our place in the wrong way, which of course would be hilarious if we understood what it really meant! Instead we use it in naturalistic conversations like such-as:

Me: I pwned Gardening Australia. Want me to QI it if you're not home?

...which, in American, means:

Me: Huh. So, like, I set a reminder for Gardening Awwwssieland. You want that I should Tivo that sucka on accounta if you get home real late or what?

See, our Tivo-like sys, available through Foxtel (cable TV provider owned by Roo-pert), is called IQ, but since my own is a bit lacking I call it QI à la the Stephen Fry quiz/panel TV show, which is ironic. And btw? Luckily I have a good head for genuine trivia, and an excellent memory for the most useless of the ilk, meaning I'm actually really bloody good at QI! I knew my uselessness would be useful for something.

We LOVES our new digs! Coincidentally, I just translated some atypical Aussie-English into American in my answer to the comment above. It was fun. Hey, so like, ahhh, you want that we should desert brainstorm an Aussie/'Mer'can dick-O-nary some day, huh? (Yep, I'll be doing the "I'm from Joizy" supplement.)
