so i saw HBP.
HAHAHAHHA OMG SO HORRIBLE. i knew it wouldn't be good, but i at least hoped for entertaining. nope. it was stupid, boring, annoying, ridiculous, and such a painfully drastic departure from not only the sixth book but the universe and characters in general. it was not dark and serious. it was full of cheap jokes and long over-dramatic nothings. my least favorite part of the book, the ginny storyline, made up about half the movie. she was randomly inserted into many many scenes just so it looked like she had reasonably bonded with harry (which we all know she actually didn't in the book). my favorite scenes -- dumbledore telling harry the power he had that voldemort didn't was love, the scene in which harry stands up to scrimgeour and says he's dumbledore's man through and through, the mystery of the horcruxes and trying to figure out what they could all be -- were nowhere to be found. and i don't understand why there was barely a mention of tom riddle's parents, when they were so important in the book and the primary reason he became lord voldemort in the first place. there are obviously more things but i'm too annoyed to continue. i was supposed to see the movie in imax with my dad when i get back from the vacation i'm currently on, but i don't think i could sit through it again. i had a huge urge to get up and leave a few times as it was. my favorite of the books, yet the worst of the movies.
