Rob told me once that his goals in life was to become completely apathetic about everything. I got kind of hot-headed about it and listed off a bunch of things that he probably cared about, and in the end he told me that it's an impossible goal anyway.

(the problem with me is that I can't NOT care about stuff.)

You remind me a bit of Alix when you talk about not caring about stuff. For an example, being her friend is deeply important to me, and I got into an argument with her at Fanime. Later, I tried to apologise, and she said that she didn't care about it. It made me think that she didn't care if I ever apoligised or if our friendship dissolved because of this argument...
Alix says stuff like that all the time, but I figure that she DOES care (at least....I hope so!) and doesn't know what else to say.

See, I have the theory: you don't have to care about EVERYTHING. But to be a well rounded person, you have to care about somethings. I stopped caring about the future for a few months and I was a much happier person. I was less stressed and more determined to go my own way. Thanks to my new Creative Writing class, however, I've started to panic again. If you don't care about anything, what's the point in life? and you can't be selfish and not care about things. if you're selfish you're doing stuff for YOU which is caring about YOU. I've learned that being selfish isn't all bad, even though I still feel awful about it.
