If you could rename yourself in real life, what would you choose, and why?

I do not have an answer for why -- but I always had imaginary adventures as Jon(athan) Darke. I am not sure (cannot recall) where the name came from. and I had a cat (an abyssinian (sp?)) named Ashai Rei.

I've always liked my name and never had one that I thought was an alter ego but I remember my daughter, who hated that her name was Cheyenne, wished she was Jennifer Haynes. How do you pronounce the cat's name?
