...we are doing OK. We're in Illinois right now, so we weren't anywhere near the bridge. We didn't even know what had happened until 10:00 that night, when my dad's girlfriend called and asked if we'd seen it on the news. We hadn't because we weren't watching any network TV

I was worried. Thanks for posting that you weren't affected by the bridge collapse. I spent the evening on the phone with friends trying to make sure that everyone I knew in the Twin Cities was safe.
