I'm having a New York City renaissance.

Ok, not quite (although I do want desperately to go home and then go into the city to enjoy all the Christmas upgrades NYC gets around this time), but I am having a Sports Night renaissance.

I watched the entire show about a year or two ago and loved it but never really got into the fandom aspect of it, for ( Read more... )

Well, I watched the first disc of season 1 last week (that's all I've ever seen of it), and I must say I'm shipping Natalie and Jeremy!

And I love the interactions w/ Dan and Casey! I don't really get into fic that much, but those slash ones sound hilarious!

I can't really pick a favorite episode because I've only seen up to Thespis, but I really liked the pilot.

The pilot is still one of my favorites. Actually, who am I kidding? They're ALL my favorites :)

Natalie and Jeremy are adorable together too. Just the whole cast, really. Mmm, enjoy s2!!

Oh, man, I haven't watched SN in ages. That set is, like, #1 on my list of dvds to buy, but it's NEVER on sale. Come on, Amazon!

God, I love The Six Southern Gentlemen of Tennessee, and Sally (oh, God, "you're wearing my shirt, Gordon" kills me every. single. time) and the one where Dana holds their pants hostage and the pilot and oh, boy, so much of that show is just solid win.

Let's see. 5 Things Sorkin Never Got to Steal from Sportscenter is one of my favorite SN fics. There's, like, 2 others saved in my del.icio.us, but that's only because my renaissance was before I started religiously bookmarking things I read.

Any links are good links in my book :) I looked up the DVDs online and they were $50 for both together which is not awful. I think Santa might be getting an addition to my list!

Six Southern Gentleman of TN is potentially my favorite of all time, although I really think every episode is my favorite.

If you're interested in other links for stories, some people have posted other links and I made this not FO so anyone can add to the Sports Night love!

Hey, sorry to impose on your comment as I don't know you. Just wanted to say from one Sports Night fan to another that I clicked the fic you linked and it was really good. I've already replied to the author but thanks for passing the fic along. :D

Sports Night! Oh, man. I love this show. No exaggeration, I think it is probably my favorite show ever. I could watch it everyday. Which makes it really hard to pick a favorite episode/line/anything.

I love Six Southern Gentlemen of Tennessee Tech. I think Cut Man Cometh is hilarious. I love Dear Louise crazy large amounts. My, my, my, my, my Boogie Shoes! Oh man, Eli's Coming breaks my heart. I absolutely love What Kind of Day has it Been. I could keep going on, but I just love the show. I love the way it is hilarious and makes you feel for the characters and almost always ends with that warm feeling of hope ( ... )

Ok, best response ever? I love the idea of shirts with quotes on it because some of the exchanges and one liners in this show are just perfect but no one ever knows them when I say them!!

I'm not a big Dana/Casey fan mostly because I think the lead up would have been better than anything else. I'll definitly have to check out those links ... I hope the put sports back in SN challenge is run again because some of those stories are amazing and show-like!!

Aaaaand, I took your suggestion and made the post public because even if the show's been off the air for 7 years, that doesn't mean we can't celebrate it! So pimp! Pimp away!

Aw, thanks! My mom knew someone from from work who does shirts they actually look really nice. :D I gave one to my roommate and her's says, "You're five kinds of crazy, you know that?" and she loves it and wears it all the time. And the other girl we live with is on the crew team and she's a coxswain. So her shirt says "A coxswain?" "They're competitors just like everyone else" and the lines look really cool in how they intersect. But, um, I spelled coxswain wrong (it sounds like 'coxon' when you say it out loud!) so she only wears it to bed. :/

Dude, even with the shirts where it acknowledges Sports Night right under the quote people still don't get it. They laugh and they are funny and my misuse a word properly shirt goes quite a few comments on how great it is, but people haven't heard of the show. I only got two people that saw the shirt and recognized it. One said Sorkin is pretty good with West Wing but sucks at writing sports and the other was shocked people my age still know of the show. So... yeah.

Oh, I totally ( ... )

It's been forever since I've watched Sports Night, and I STILL have not finished S2, but I love that show! One of the moments I remember loving in particular is the end of "Mary Pat Shelby" when Dan tells Natalie "this is what friends gear up for." MAJOR TEARS. And pretty much the whole of "Shoe Money Tonight", especially Jeremy's "you have three sevens, and I have a straight." As for ships, I really like Jeremy/Natalie and Dana/Casey (and I can see WHY people ship Dan/Casey, but I really like them more as BFF).

Shoe Money Tonight rocks. I love that -- Jeremy's monologue, Dana, everything. Jeremy and Natalie are too cute and dorky together and Dan and Casey are perfect, either as BFF or as something more and lots of the fic I've loved has straddled that line. Ah, sports night.

I LOVED Sports Night.

It's so long ago that I don't remember most of it, some things that come to mind are Natalie not 'acknowledging' the break, "if you scream into the mic when i'm wearing a headset, it poses the question - is there a decibel level at which point the human head will, you know, EXPLODE?"

and pretty much every quote from here - http://www.angelfire.com/pop2/hqp/sportsnight.html

Mmm, all those quotes make me want to watch every single episode ... which I think I will over Christmas break!!
