[Hawkeye was enjoying the nice weather on her day off, sitting in the park and reading when she glanced up and noticed him walking by in that very neat-looking suit of his, and her initial thought was that he was droned. At least, until she took note of the way he was carrying himself and realized she must've been mistaken. She smiled politely, tipping her head as he walked by.]

A lawyer is someone who gets paid a lot of money to help people settle arguments in their favor.

Yeah, though it took them a couple of trips to deliver it all.

That sounds like kind of a weird job. Uh, no offense... it's just that, I've never heard of something like that before. Do you have to beat people on somebody else's behalf, then? [ and by beat, he means battle... as in Pokémon battles. Yeah. ]

What? No, see, this is how it works: each side gets their own lawyer, and then they make speeches and use their knowledge of the law to convince people that they're right and the other side is wrong. Then a group of people that are neutral about the argument decide which side is right and which is wrong.

Alright, so I probably won't be able to do anything legal against the city. At least I can step in before the other people stuck here kill each other.

My good man, these are people who breathe fire from their nostrils and bench press cars for weight training. As intimidating as being confronted by a lawyer is, you'll only place yourself in danger.

Maybe. Then again, maybe playing along with the city's idea of justice will help you get the city on your side.

[ Niou is sprawled out on a bench in the park, taking up the entire thing. He's reading a book that he got from the library, some adventure novel that he's really not all that interested in. It makes him wish he had his copy of Phantom of the Opera. He's keeping half an eye on the people walking around him whilst trying to get into the book.

Out of the corner of his eye, he sees Neal. With the way he's dressed, he automatically assumes he's a drone. But another glance and a bit of watching tells him otherwise. In that case-

He sits up and marks his place with his finger and speaks in a voice loud enough to be heard. ]

[Neal raises an eyebrow at the kind of abrupt address.]

[B. Action]

[ Niou's eyes lock on the fedora. ] That from home? [ Then he takes in the rest of what Neal's wearing. The style is something that could be found in his own closet, and it makes him wish he had his own clothes back, even more than he wished he had his books back.

People receive things here and there. I'm more interested in finding out whether or not the level of importance an item has is up to chance. [ Odd chance or being mocked; he can't say he's a fan of either. ]
