So, I started to post yesterday, but that did not happen and yeah. Trying again...
So KMFDM was, obviously, awesome! Lemme see if I can remember everything. Wow, I should put this behind a cut. :D
So, I got left at like a quarter to seven, almost got lost in the school parking structure because I am special like that, plus, I had to park somewhere other than where I usually park. So, when I get to the parking structure by the House of Blues, there was one car in front of me and one behind me and we all ended up getting stuck there for like ten minutes because they could not get the arm on either side to go up. So there was this long line of cars waiting to get out and the three of us waiting to get in. Also, I had to pay ten fucking dollars to park, ahead of time. WTF?
So, inside, not all that many people were there, since the show did not start until eight and it was only maybe 7:30. I just kinda walked around and looked at stuff. I bought a shirt for the tour and a set of three pins. Yay! I like the shirt. :D
After a while of sitting there, these two guys started talking to me. Well, one of them did, then the guy he had been talking to did too. Not really the point. We kinda babbled about KMFDM and school and stuff; neither of them go here. Also, neither of them knew that Abby Travis is the name of the chick on Symbols. I am still not sure if it was the same Abby Travis that opened, but I think it was. I only really talked to one of the guys, since the other one was just kind of going all over the place. He was dressed kinda emo, too, so I found that odd. The other guy was nice. He had a KMFDM shirt on.
So, Abby Travis was decent. I liked some of her stuff, it just did not really fit with Combichrist and KMFDM. Oh well. Combichrist on the other hand, I really liked. I was not sure what to make of them before I heard them. I mean, up until then, I had only heard of them. I actually danced and stuff. I head banged, too, which is always fun, especially with my hair down.
Now, throughout the entire set, this guy kept looking at me. I had no idea why. I thought it was just because I was some chick headbanging or something like that. So, the set ended and I wandered off and changed into my shirt. Oh yeah! They were playing classical music before and after KMFDM. It was.... odd. I know Danielle would have been amused. So, right before KMFMD started, that guy came up to me and very enthusiastically said hi and introduced himself. He said he just wanted to tell me that I am really beautiful and that he and his friend were over at the bar if I wanted to hang out with them. Ha ha ha. People hitting on me is funny. :D So, I told the guy I was hanging out with what had happened and he said he had to agree, He later said that again and added that he had wanted to say something earlier but that he did not have the balls to, or something to that effect. So yeah, I got hit on by two guys. I still find it funny.
KMFDM! Holy shit, they were amazing! They started with DIY, which is awesome. I got all uber excited. :D I hate to admit this, but I was not really familiar with about half of what they played. I will try and list all the songs they played (I had to look some of them up.) Not in order of course. They played Adios, Megalomaniac, Son of a Gun, Hau Ruck, Mini Mini Mini, WWIII, Light, Last Things, Free Your Hate, More & Faster, Every Day's a Good Day, A Drug Against War, and they ended with Godlike. They also did a song from some side project, I forget what. Not MDFMK, I wanna say KGC, but I am probably wrong. After they left the stage the first time, they came back after everyone starting chanting/shouting "KMFDM sucks!" That was so great.
So yeah. It was beyond awesome. Two of the members of KMFDM had mohawks. :D
I need a KMFDM icon for this....
Risen
A full three sixty
A complete return
With no excuses
And no concerns
The ultra-heavy-beat
Is going strong
If it feels this good
Then it can't be wrong
Karma
Echo
Eternity
What's good for you
Is still good for me
And after all
We're not looking back
We manipulate the future
To stay on track
Damned if you do
And damned if you don't
You better seize the moment
Before it's gone
The ultra-heavy-beat
Goes on and on
When it's all said and done
This is what you want
The vision
Direction
Reflecting
Perfection
The manifesto
Translates post-mortem
Buried alive
And left for dead
One step back
Is two steps ahead
Rise! - From the ashes and decay
Rise! - From the prison of your grave
Rise! - Above the standard and the norm
Rise! - Into the eye of the storm
Rise!
Raise the flag
Carry the flame
The more things change
The more the stay the same
The king is dead
Long live the king
Mayhem
Riot
Uprising
A small step for mankind
A giant leap for a rock'n'roll
We control the rhythm
The beat cops are on patrol
Wake up people
Get on your feet
It's time to do your part
For the ultra-heavy-beat
Shoulder to shoulder
Back to back
All guns ablaze
Systematic attak
Strong and rigid
Bold and vivid
Spread the news
The ego has landed
Metal detectors
Drug tests
Curfews
Don't let the system
Continue to rape you
Vodka and benzene
Destroy the machines
The glorious end justifies the means
Rise! - From the ashes and decay
Rise! - From the prison of your grave
Rise! - Above the standard and the norm
Rise! - Into the eye of the storm
