This is too cool...
I gotta get one of these things.
http://www.robotsrule.com/html/rovio.php Essentially, it's a webcam, a robot with a spiffy navigation system, and a webserver.
As it tools around your home or office, it's wifi antenna keeps it in communication with the internet. It hosts a webpage that shows it's camera view, along with controls for moving it about.
It knows where it's base station is, and can return to it and recharge if it needs to.
It's pretty easy to program in locations or paths (like, "kitchen" or "Bedroom"), and one-click send it there (helpful if you're controlling it from your web-enabled phone).
It has a microphone and a speaker, so you can converse with someone through it if your PC has the same.
Oh yes, it's not available yet ("fall 2008"), but the recommended retail is: $299.
Just... too... cool...
