WoW

So it turns out that I will not be able to transfer my characters to another server. This a bit stupid on Blizzards part. Even FFXI has a way to switch servers per character.

Oh well. Sorry guys, I tried, but it looks like as of now, I will not be playing WoW with you after all.

one of the reasons that they don't have unlimited transfers is because there are probably over 1 million active accounts, thats a lot of people to be allowing to transfer their characters as they please. They simply don't have the manpower or resources to allow anything except transfers to new realms and Mediveh is anything but new and one of the largest servers to boot.

Well, no offense, but FFXI has over a million active accounts and they still allow transfers at anytime and they have half the servers Blizzard does. I would just like to see the Blizzard servers improved upon. WoW is still considerably new, I'm sure it'll get better in this regard. At least, I hope so.

Blizzard said in a statement that they had hoped to have 250,000 active accounts by the end of the first year. They had that after the first two weeks. They had no idea what they were getting into, even after what happened when EQ went live and nearly killed the internet in the San Diego area because they underestimated the demand for their product.
