"for what do we live, but to make sport for our neighbors and laugh at them in our turn."

I haven’t worked out much since graduating in May, so I’ve decided to join a gym for a month before I start school. Paying for the membership is also more of an incentive to actually use it. I used to go there every once in a while when home for extended vacations. It’s a peaceful place with soothing new age music, meditation paths, a smoothie ( Read more... )

Is it wrong to miss you already? It's not a "missing your beloved when she's out of the country", but a "missing a wonderful friend who you got to hang out with for a long time for really the first time, ever, and realizing that it could be a long time before that ever happens again"... Why don't I ever realize these friendships with people when they are literally within walking distance of me, but try to continue them from afar, where my track record is less than stellar in maintaining them? However, despite how pessimistic that sounds, for once, this is one time when I will work hard at keeping you a part of my life, because I'm fairly certain I will have very few others in the future that will be this meaningful.

Oh, and naked old people suck.

Don't worry. I'm good at keeping friends. I still have one from elem school that I consider a "best friend" and a bunch from middle school. Friend overload, huh? Anyway, I see that you've gotten into this online journal world too. Good for you.

Naked old people do suck (unless they've kept themselves fit a la Madonna). But hot, young naked people are so fun to look at, it's probably worth the risk of seeing the older ones. Although, most people our age seem to prefer to change at home, rather than chill out nude in the gym. So maybe it's not worth the risk. It's a give and take system.

And, um, I miss you too. But I tell you about that every time I talk to you. Actually, that's generally one of the main things we talk about.

Yeah, I leave the exhibitionism to the folks who do it best- grandmothers. And isn't your definition of "missing someone" wanting action? just teasing. :P

Actually, that is my definition of "missing someone", at least, in regards to you. Which is why I said we discuss it all the time :)

"It’s a peaceful place with soothing new age music, meditation paths, a smoothie bar, massages, etc."
I've never been to a gym like that.
Referring to other observations you made about your gym, it sounds like a gym for the elderly. Do you really fit in there?

Well, sometimes I do feel like a decrepit 80 year old...

Besides, it's only 70% elderly! It's located near HBU, so there are lots of college kids who get to work out at a discounted rate. I've also bumped into a few people that I knew in high school.

That thing about attending college in a "college town" is the high concentration of peers, but(as I'm sure you've noticed since graduating yourself) the rest of the world isn't like that bubble. Grow up! :p
