Title: Trouser Party Rabbit- fun for the whole Decaydance family.
Pairing: Deleon/Cash
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: This is totally fictitious- both the game and the situation.
Warning: Ridiculousness.
Summary: At the Cab’s first Decaydance party, Gabe suggests his favourite party game and much groping ensues.
A/N: Once upon a time, I’m trying to sign in to lokte’s wireless network and I notice that one of her neighbours has a network called ‘Trouser Party Rabbit’. And the next morning I sit on her sofa in my PJs and write this. I’m totally a great houseguest normally, I swear! Unbetaed because this is very much not!fic.

Everyone looks a little bit sceptical.

“Come on,” Gabe says brightly. “It’ll be fun! I promise.”

“What’s this game called again?” Alex asks warily. He glances around at the rest of the room. Most of Decaydance are there, lounging about the room with drinks and food and listening to the music Pete was pumping into the room. The few who’d looked up when Gabe had announced they’d be playing a party game seemed nonplussed but Alex isn’t sure that’s a good sign.

“Trouser Party Rabbit,” Gabe tells him. A couple of people groan.

“Can’t we play something else?” Joe asks. “We always play that.”

“I’d rather play Testicular Fortitude,” the Butcher agrees and Alex winces because he’s pretty sure something with ‘Rabbit’ in it is going to be a lot less painful than whatever the Butcher’s suggesting.

Gabe waggles his eyebrows in the Butcher’s direction. “Dude, depending on how you play this game, it could involve testicular fortitude. Come on guys. It’ll be fun. You know you always enjoy it!”

“Explain to the newbies how to play,” Travis calls from where he’s lounging with Bill on a sofa.

“Yes!” Gabe says, pointing at Travis. “Good point!”

He looks around the room at each of the Cab in turn. “Here’s how it goes. This is the trouser rabbit,” he says, pulling something out of his pocket and showing it to them. It’s a tiny, soft toy rabbit, only a couple of inches high. Alex thinks it’s cute and reaches out and takes it.

“It’s so soft!” he says, rubbing it against his cheek.

Brendon snorts with laughter and Alex shoots him a questioning look, still rubbing the rabbit against his skin.

“What happens is that someone- me, for the first round- leaves the room and someone in here hides it. Then I have to find it.”

It sounds easy enough and Alex is going to say so, is about to say that he used to play a similar game at his birthday parties when he was a kid when Pete says “Tell ‘em where it gets hidden, Gabe.”

“Oh!” Gabe says. “Yes. So. The reason it’s called Trouser Party Rabbit is because someone hides it down their trousers.”

Alex throws the rabbit across the room. It lands on Johnson’s lap, and Johnson gives Alex a dirty look.

“And then I come back in, have a look around, pick three people and get to see if I can find the rabbit in their pants. If I’m right, I win, and get to choose who gets to play the next round. And if I’m wrong, I have to do a forfeit.”

There’s a moment of silence, then Pete starts to laugh his loud, braying laugh. “I think you’ve scared the kids, Gabe.”

Alex bristles. He knows they’re the new kids, the youngest, but that doesn’t mean they’re babies or anything. “We’ll play,” he says, speaking for his whole band. Marshall shoots him a surprised look and he’s pretty sure Johnson is going to punch him later but they can’t not play. Alex needs for them to fit in, for Pete to keep them on his label, because this is their big chance. He wants to make Spencer proud. And maybe impress Brendon a little too.

“Shouldn’t we get some girls in here?” Cash asks. “So this isn’t so gay? I mean, where’s VickyT at?”

Alex frowns at Cash. He’s not sure why Cash suddenly wants to get his hands down VickyT’s pants but he doesn’t like it. Not that he’s jealous of the idea or anything, but that’s not the point.

“She’s a wise woman and declined to join us when she saw Gabe bringing the rabbit,” Ryland tells him.

“Are we playing or what?” Gabe asks, impatiently, tossing the rabbit at Pete, who fumbles it and has to pick it up off the floor.

“We’re playing,” Pete says. “Go and hide in the closet.”

Gabe bats his eyelashes at Pete. “But Pete, I have nothing to hide. Not like some people.”

Pete flips him off and when Gabe leaves the room he glances around the room. “Right,” he says. “Who’s gonna be the lucky dude?”

He glances around then tosses it across the room at Bill. “Let’s ease into it with the obvious,” he says and Bill rolls his eyes, grabs the tiny rabbit and shoves it down his pants. Alex isn’t sure whether to watch or not as Bill rearranges himself so the bulge in his pants isn’t totally obvious as being mostly rabbit, and Pete sends Gabe a text to tell him to come back in.

Gabe wanders into the room, big grin on his face. He walks around slowly, staring at everyone’s crotches in turn.

“Wow, Ryan,” he says as he passes. “Looks like you’ve got a dozen rabbits in your pants.”

Ryan flips him off and Alex watches as Brendon angles his crotch a little different, watching Gabe’s face as he passes, but Gabe doesn’t say anything. He looks disappointed and Alex sees the amused smirk on Spencer’s face for a moment before Gabe is blocking his view. It takes Alex a moment to realise Gabe is looking at his crotch and it makes his cheeks hot. He’s not sure whether he wants Gabe to pick him to check or not.

“Hmm,” Gabe says after a moment. “Okay. Here’s my three- Jon, Bill and…Cash.”

Alex turns his head to look at Cash, who looks surprised, but a little pleased. Alex thinks he shouldn’t look so happy about it, because Gabe had called his name last and he was going to find the rabbit in Bill’s pants before he even got to Cash.

“Mr Walker,” Gabe says, crouching down in front of Jon. “May I?”

Jon laughs and lifts his shirt so Gabe can slide his hand down below the waistband of Jon’s jeans. Alex swallows- he hadn’t realised that Gabe wasn’t going to undo people’s pants, that his room to manoeuvre would be tight and there would probably be a lot of brushing of…parts.

Jon giggles and then Gabe sighs and pulls his hand back. “No luck there,” he says, and pats Jon’s arm as he gets up. “Right, who’s next.”

Alex glances over at Bill, who looks lazy and relaxed on the sofa still. But Gabe heads for Cash.

“Stand up, my man,” he says, and Cash does so, raising his eyebrows at Alex as Gabe pulls Cash forward by a belt loop and shoves his hand inside.

“Oh!” Cash says, and grabs onto Gabe’s arm to steady himself as Gabe rummages around, then pulls out his hand empty.

“Dammit,” he says as Cash collapses back into his seat, looking half molested and half in love. “Right, you’re up, Bill.”

Bill doesn’t move, just stretches out his long legs and says “Come and get me, baby,” as Gabe slides his hand down into Bill’s pants. Alex knows the exact moment Gabe finds it because Gabe’s face lights up. He doesn’t stop feeling around though and after a moment or two Alex feels like he’s intruding on some private moment. He looks away and glances at Cash, who’s watching them with an intrigued look on his face.

“Success!” Gabe crows, finally, pulling the rabbit out and waving it around by his ears. “I am the undisputed champion.”

Bill rolls his eyes and says “Who gets to go outside this time?” he asks and Gabe glances around the room, a contemplative look on his face.

“Sisky Biz, step on up,” he announces and Sisky gets to his feet, brushes himself down and saunters from the room.

“Let’s see, let’s see,” Gabe says, tapping his finger to his lips as he thinks. “Ross, why don’t you see if you can make it a dozen and one rabbits down your pants?”

~~~
Alex is actually really, really enjoying himself. Sisky hadn’t found the rabbit in Ryan’s pants and had to give Ryan a somewhat disturbing strip show as his forfeit (chosen by Gabe, of course). Brendon had been sent out next and had found the rabbit in Ian’s pants after spending a long time feeling around inside Spencer’s. Marshall had reluctantly shoved his hand into Patrick, Carden and Matt’s trousers and had eventually emerged victorious, and Ryland had located the rabbit in Johnson’s trousers.
And then Ryland turned to Alex and said “Your turn, little dude,” and somehow Alex had ended up out in the hallway, pacing around and thinking about how he was going to have to stick his hand down people’s pants. He didn’t know how he was going to choose- he didn’t want to seem too eager to touch some people, but there were some people who’s dicks he’d rather not have to touch.
His phone beeps and it’s Pete, telling him to come back inside. He opens the door slowly and it’s daunting, walking back into a quiet room filled with boys who’re waiting for him to stare at their crotches.
Alex starts with Gabe, who wiggles his hips helpfully. It makes Alex laugh and it’s a little easier to look at everyone in turn. Alex doesn’t meet anyone’s eyes, just stares at crotches, and as soon as he looks at Cash he knows it’s in Cash’s pants.
A wave of panic washes over him. He doesn’t know what to do because he can’t possible fish around in Cash’s pants. He can’t feel Cash’s dick because he knows there’s a good chance he’ll want to do it again, or, worse, will be unable to fight the urge to wrap his fingers around it then and there, in front of everyone.
He finishes looking around, and bites his lip. He doesn’t know what to do. He thinks of how awful the forfeit might be, whether it’ll be worse than having to feel Cash up, and closes his eyes briefly.
“Pete,” he says. “Gabe.”
He pauses, wills himself to say Cash’s name, but he can’t. “Brendon,” he finishes, because he might as well get something he enjoys out of this horrific experience.”
There’s a snicker from Gabe’s direction and as Alex walks towards a smirking Pete, he catches Cash’s eye. Cash looks strange- disappointed, maybe. Hurt, a little, like he knows what Alex has done.
It’s not in Pete’s pants. Alex tries to make it as quick as possible but Pete grabs his wrist when he tries to pull his hand away after a second or two.
“You have to check thoroughly,” he says, and Alex laughs nervously and feels around again. It’s weird, having his fingers brush against Pete’s dick which he’d seen on the internet back when he’d been a kid with dreams of being a rock star.
Alex moves on to Gabe who winks at him. “I know you just want to get your hands on my goods,” Gabe says. “You can use both hands if you want. People have to do that a lot. I’ve got a lot to hold.”
Alex rolls his eyes and slides his hand inside. “Nope, no rabbit,” he says after a moment. “I’m having trouble locating your dick too,” he adds. “You sure you keep it in here?”
Gabe throws back his head and laughs and so does everyone else and Alex feels better.
“I’ll show it to you later, if you still need proof it’s there,” Gabe says quietly as Alex pulls his hand out. Alex isn’t sure if he’s serious or not so he hurries over to Brendon.
“Sorry, bro,” he says, cutting his eyes towards Spencer, as if Spencer’s going to get pissed off at him. Spencer seems amused though, and Brendon pulls at his own waistband to let Alex in.
There’s no rabbit there, but there is something that Alex is going to be having awesome dreams about for a long time afterwards. He tries not to grope too much but he figures that’s the point of the game. He enjoys it so much he almost forgets to be disappointed when he comes up empty handed.
“Alright, who has it?” he demands, even though he already knows. He purposely doesn’t look at Cash as Cash fishes it out and holds it up.
“Me,” Cash says, and Alex glances over and smiles. Cash doesn’t smile back.
“Forfeit!” Pete says and looks to Ryland to choose what Alex’s punishment should be.
Ryland tips his head to the side and thinks for a moment. “I think since he denied Cash the…pleasure of being searched, he needs to give him a kiss to say sorry. A proper kiss. With tongue and everything.”
Alex’s cheeks flush pink and he glances at Cash who looks surprised.
“No,” Alex says, and Cash stares up at him. There’s definite hurt in his eyes now.
The room goes quiet.
“No?” Pete repeats, gently. He glances at Patrick, who frowns.
“Cash is my best friend. I can’t kiss him. It’d be…weird.”
Around him Alex can see people exchanging glances. Johnson is shaking his head and Ian is not meeting Alex’s eyes.
“I’ll kiss someone else,” Alex says hastily. “Not Cash.” He looks at Ryland, pleading, but it’s Gabe who answers him.
“The forfeit is the forfeit,” Gabe says. “Can’t be changed. You knew the rules.”
“It’s fine,” Cash speaks up. “If he doesn’t want to kiss me, he doesn’t have to.”
Alex isn’t used to hearing Cash speak without a hint of laughter in his voice. He’s only heard Cash this serious, this hurt, once or twice before and he feels sick suddenly, and foolish.
“No, no, it’s okay,” Alex says. “I’m being dumb. It’s not a big deal, right? You don’t mind kissing me?”
Cash gives him a level look. “No,” he says. “I really don’t mind kissing you.” There’s something measured about his tone, like he’s trying to say something, but Alex doesn’t get it. He just walks towards Cash, leans in and kisses him.
He pulls back and looks at Ryland who shakes his head.
“With tongue, dude,” he reminds and Alex sighs and cups Cash’s cheek with his hand and kisses him again. He opens his mouth and Cash does the same and for a moment Alex forgets where he is, what they’ve been doing, who’s there with them, because all he can think about is the taste of Cash’s mouth, something he’s been dreaming about since they were in high school and hating each other across the classroom.
Cash’s hand fists in Alex’s shirt and pulls him closer. It makes Alex overbalance and he tumbles down into Cash’s lap but doesn’t stop kissing him.
It feels like an eternity and at the same time not long enough, but he’s pretty sure it’s only been a few seconds. He breaks the kiss when he hears a wolf whistle and doesn’t look at Cash, or anyone else as he pushes himself to his feet and goes back to his seat.
The game continues for awhile. Alex lets Ryan feel around in his pants, laughs with everyone else when Travis’s hand gets stuck inside Patrick’s jeans, and doesn’t make eye contact with Cash, or the rest of his band, for the remainder of the night.
It’s late when they stumble off to bed. They’re staying at Pete’s place overnight. It’s big and spacious and somehow Alex and Cash have ended up sharing a room together. There’s one double bed, which is more luxurious than what they ever get to sleep on when they’re on the road so Alex isn’t going to complain.
“You ever going to look at me again?” Cash asks when Alex comes out of the bathroom and starts to get into bed.
“Yes,” Alex says, and to prove his point he looks over. Cash is giving him a strange look. He’s still fully dressed.
“I can go and sleep somewhere else, you know,” Cash suggests and Alex shakes his head.
“Don’t be weird,” he tells him. “Just go to sleep.”
Cash makes an annoyed noise. “I’m sorry you had to kiss me. Must’ve been horrible.”
Alex frowns. “It wasn’t horrible,” he says. “It was…nice.”
He’s blushing, he knows he is, and when he looks up, Cash’s expression has changed.
“Yeah,” Cash says. “It was.”
Neither of them say anything for a long moment. Then Cash pulls something out of his pocket. It’s the rabbit from the game.
“What’s this for?” Alex asks, staring at it. Cash chucks it over and Alex catches it, turning it over in his hands. He thinks about how everyone on the Decaydance label is a great big furry, and he grins.
“Just an idea I had,” Cash says slowly, hesitantly. “See, I thought we could keep playing.”
Alex frowns. “Just the two of us?” he says, and then realises what Cash is saying. “Oh!” he exclaims. “Um. Really?”
Cash nods slowly. “Yeah. I mean. If you want?”
Alex smiles.
“I’m going to leave the room,” Cash says, smiling back. “And when I come back, if it’s not sitting here on my pillow, I’m going to come looking for it. Wherever that may be. Okay?”
“Okay,” Alex says and watches Cash go into the bathroom.
He stares at the rabbit for a long moment. He thinks about kissing Cash and the idea of Cash’s hands down his pants and how this is going to change everything. For a moment he considers placing the rabbit on Cash’s pillow and closing his eyes, pretending to be asleep, avoiding having to deal with all the changes that this is going to bring.
But he doesn’t. Instead he takes the rabbit, and shoves it down his pants.
“You can come back now,” he calls, and grins when Cash walks back out, wearing just his boxers. Cash glances at his pillow, sees it’s empty and grins. He walks towards Alex.
~~~

The next morning Alex finds Gabe and places the rabbit next to his bowl of cereal.

“Thanks for loaning this to Cash last night,” he says, helping himself to some toast from the kitchen counter.

“Oh yeah?” Gabe asks, slipping the rabbit into his hoodie pocket. “Did it come in handy?”

Alex smiles, and then blushes when Gabe whistles.

“That good huh?”

Alex nods shyly and Gabe claps him on the back.

“I’m glad the rabbit fulfilled its destiny again,” he says. “It’s always good to see two people get together.”

“Again?” Alex asks, curiously and Gabe laughs and glances across the room at where Panic are squabbling over the prize from a cereal box.

“Last time we played,” Gabe says, “Brendon and Spencer weren’t together. Spencer borrowed the rabbit afterwards though. And ever since…”

Alex watches as Brendon presses a kiss to Spencer’s cheek when Spencer wrestles the prize out of Ryan’s grasp and presents it to Brendon.

“Awesome,” Alex says and takes his toast over to Cash and shares it with him.
