I, like many of you, am rather upset about the outcome for Proposition 8, the anti-gay marriage amendment. It's a huge step backward for California just as we had potential to help lead the nation in a new progressive movement. Well, we have our Vice Presidential nominees. Obama took the safe road in getting someone who represents experience and strong foreign policy, two things he's been knocked on repeatedly. This week has seen some ridiculously childish political posturing on both state and federal levels. I just finished my first week on the new job. So far it's been much better than I was anticipating, even though I haven't been able to do any actual work yet. All the people around me are great, which really makes all the difference.
