I am currently and seriously considering getting rid of all the instruments I have worked so hard to accumulate with the exception of two of my trombone, and not playing any more rock or pop music. And also considering not sharing my music with anyone until I feel I'm ready to, or at least until I have completed my degree ( Read more... )

PLEASE don't get caught up in "needing" a degree to vaildate your art; i know i did, and i'm SO happy that those fears/snags have passed through and out of me. simply introducing myself to people as a writer, when they ask what i'm doing, gives me the confidence to live up to that title. also, to get through that tough period of feeling like my work was invalid because it goes unrecognized and i have not studied it to its fullest potential i started sharing EVERYTHING with ANYONE and EVERYONE who would give me the chance, and even negative comments have helped me grow into the confident writer that i now feel i am. being able to take critiques means starting where you are and learning your weaknesses through, well, critiques, so that when they repeat themselves you can accept them without letting them change you ( ... )

Hey, I bet you can guess who this is. I found your journal through (what else?) facebook and thought I'd offer you the chance, if you want, to be "friends" w/ me here too. I figure the more superficial electronic friendships we have, the better! But truly, we need to hang out (cough cough, you never called me yesterday) in person. Also, you don't REALLY need to read my journal if you don't want to because it's more or less crazy or maybe more than you want to know about me.

Ur totally added.

I apologize for not calling, I've been catching up with people who have been away on break. Which seems ridiculous, seeing as you have been here the whole time. So I confess that I have been lame. :(

Also, your journal title and subtitle are wrong. I compose classical music.
