Buried in Christmas bows and blanket of weeds.

Happy Sunday, everyone. I am currently sitting in the McHenry library with my dear laptop, who is also named Henry, freezing my fingers off as I attempt to make some progress on the final paper for my Gothic Imagination class. In case you care, in this paper I am attempting to compare acts of infanticide within Toni Morrison's Beloved and Art ( Read more... )

LOL! That's when I started drinking it, when I was writing Dirty. Though the reason why she likes it is because when I was in Ireland I visited the distillery...but I didn't actually start drinking it until I thought I should know how it tasted for the book research.

I have learned it is best not to write my papers on the texts I really loved at lot.

However, I have written papers on both of those (separately, not together).

Additionally your paper idea sounds neat.

I found it a little easier to write about these texts than some I've disliked in the past, probably because I think about them a lot more, if that makes any kind of sense. :) All the texts for my Gothic class were awesome, and I've definitely noticed an improvement in my paper-writing this quarter.

What did you write on for those texts?

I find I write better about texts that I didn't love (but found interesting or even aggravating) because I am more willing to pick them apart and because I have more perspective and a clearer view of them.

For Beloved I wrote about how Beloved is basically characterized as a vampire and serves a similar purpose.

For Maus I was writing a lot about the sections, which narrate the creation of the work itself. I remember it was about identity and the animal characterization but I don't remember exactly what I was saying.

Hey you. I just talked to you, like an hour ago. I'm interested in your liking of Whiskey.... Also, itmay feel like it heats you up on the inside, but if you were ever in a situation in the cold, you would die of hypothermia faster if you drank the whiskey to keep you 'warm'. Sorry, I have my First Responder final/cert. next Tuesday. Anywho, can't wait to see you this break! We need to have a girly night and talk about boys (cough, that was so not high school btw)who play violin and drink Whiskey and stuff.

In case I don't talk to you before you drive up, DRIVE CAREFULLY!
