Um. Um. I just found out I won the Bookshop Santa Cruz Short Story Contest.

And as you might imagine, I'm kind of really fucking excited about it.

One of the first things I did was call my dad to tell him I'd made money writing a story. It was fantastic.

$250, plus a $100 gift certificate. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH THE MONEY. Normally I would blow it on books, but they're giving me a gift certificate, so...WHAT THE HELL. I'm still in shock. And they're publishing the story in their newsletter, which apparently gets sent out to thousands of people in the Santa Cruz area, and basically I am freaking out right now.
