I've never understood the point of black & white film. I get that black & white photos look cool and arty, of course, but I can't understand why people would want to capture less information, rather than take the photos in full glorious colour and check later in potatoshop which look better in monochrome

This would be a problem with a very small camera as we are used to about 4 or 5 inches of separation.
This has been a constant issue when I have filmed events in 3D. Technically a zoom lens should have a variable distance between the lenses.
You could already archive in 3D by just taking two pictures at a time but sway one way a few inches between them.
By the way, I reconstructed a 3D picture taken at Whitby in the little angel, made from 2 people's facebook pictures taken simultaneously of the same event, side by side.
Also, are you aware of the technique to bring 3D out of moving panning shots, with the use of nothing other than a pair of sunglasses with one eye removed?
