Destinations

I'm trying to put together a list of places I haven't visited yet that that I would very much like to go to. Here's what I've got so far:

Europe: Rome, Barcelona, Athens, Monaco.
(Done: Much of the UK & Ireland, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Warsaw, Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev, Tromso, Helsinki, Tallinn, Istanbul, Dubrovnik)

North America: Toronto,

Antarctica is clearly missing off of your continent list. eh? eh? eh?

I really want to go back to Iceland so I can do the bits I missed, and visit some of the amazing places again.

Places I haven't been on my list: the arctic circle (probably Finland, but possibly Norway), Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Dresden, Stockholm, Oslo.

I want to see orcas in the wild too, probably in Scandinavia.

Scandinavia and Germany, basically. :)

Barcelona is fantastic, I'm surprised you haven't already been! I can recommend a really good tapas bar just off the Passeig de Gracia.

Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Reykjavik, so you can have the full collected set of Nordic Capitals (I still have Reykjavik to collect; one of these days).

If you're into stunning nature, the Blue Ridge area in the US (southern VA, NC, WV, I believe). It is astoundingly stunning.

I would recommend Peru for South America, but you would really need a 3 - 4 week trip to get the most out of it.

Ecuador is good for a taste of South America holiday, as it is small enough to get around easily, (but less historic sites than Peru).

If you want to get off the beaten track, how about Colombia? The Carribean coast is one of my favourite places anywhere in the world.

Other places I have visited and which impressed me are Cambodia and Morocco, and the Aeolian Islands off Sicily

On my list of to dos are: Canada (for skiing, prolly at Whistler), Thailand (trekking in the North and sailing round the islands), Laos, Syria and Jordan, Tokyo, Guatamala, South Africa and Iceland!

Iceland, Stockholm, Istanbul (and some of the archaeological sites elsewhere in Turkey) Crete, Greece, far north and west of Scotland + islands, Spain, particularly Barcelona. St Petersberg, and some Russian wilderness, plus Egypt, in a few years time.

I'm not huge on the idea of long haul travel, but New Zealand, South Africa, and the far side of Canada and the USA do tempt.
