Of course, as luck would have it, Rahal was most definitely not alone.

Culgan was coming out of Cayden's stall, looking like he'd put a bit of effort into grooming his beloved horse. When he saw the other man, he paused and watched him with... well... a faint trace of amusement. Very faint, but still there. He'd been known to speak to his mounts as well, it didn't surprise him in the least to see Rahal doing it.

Deciding not to just retreat back into the stall until Rahal left, Culgan approached him instead.

"Good day." He said.

Rahal didn't quite start, but he did stiffen, muscles bunching almost painfully when he heard that voice. Beside him, Flails sensed his nervousness and paused, looking over her master to the silver-haired man.

Ever the judge, she neither gave him a warm greeting or outright animosity, but continued to contemplate him, seeming to take most her cues from her rider.

Rahal, for his part, was having trouble formulating a decent reply. In the past month or so he'd become so used to open hatred from Culgan that something as simple and pleasant as 'good day' was beyond his ability to comprehend.

Flail chuffed, and that noise seemed to break through his initial shock.

"Good day, Culgan," he replied politely, turning back and patting Flail's rump to send the dragon horse into her somewhat larger box stall. "Did you just come in from a ride?" he chose a safe topic.
