Log: Rahal and Cecile
What: Rahal needs a room since he's stuck here...
Notes : Oh, how I have missed Cecilish.
Rahal finally managed to tear himself away from Flail after double checking for the tenth that Flail was comfortable in one of the biggest box stalls, full of fresh hay, water, and the best food he could provide for her. Assured she was content, he made his way out of the stables and over to Commander Cecile's patrol quarters. He spotted the adorable little girl and made his way toward her, bowing at his waist, his clothes still damp from the pond. "Commander Cecile," he greeted her, coming out his bow to salute.
"O-oh!!" This was a surprise--she certainly wasn't expecting the handsome new arrival to seek her out so soon. Cecile bowed in greeting, her red feather flopping comically. "Have you been finding your way around Budehuc well?"
Rahal held back a chuckle at the cute Commander, keeping himself controlled with military poise, as befitted the Commandership. "Well enough, Commander. Though, I must admit I am still at a loss as to where I should stay tonight," he said with a little chuckle at his situation. Flail before himsef. It sometimes led to awkward situations.
How rude!!! She couldn't believe how negligent she had been!! "S-Sir Rahal, I'm so sorry!! It's just we've had so many new arrivals--" for shame; never give excuses! "Would you prefer a room on the boat, or in the manor?"
"Oh, well, whichever is more convenient for you to put me in, Commander," Rahal thought on it. "I do not wish to be an inconvenience in any manner, so whatever you decide is best."
She pondered for a moment. "Your dragon... I think you said he's a water dragon?"
"Well, yes, essentially all Dragon Horses are," Rahal blinked, not seeing where this was going. "She is in the stable, for now. I do not want her to catch cold after that unplanned dip in the fountain."
Cecile clapped her hands together. "So you must spend a lot of time around water, right?? I mean, aside from unforeseen fountain swims, that is."
"Then I have the perfect suggestion!!!" Forgetting her place as commander, barely even being on acquaintance terms with this stranger, she grabbed his hand and bounded off towards the manor. "Did you ever see the boat we have on the side of the manor? Some of the rooms have a wonderful view of the lake!"
Rahal was a surprised at the taking of his hand, but he found it rather adorable from this sweet Commander and allowed it, following without complaint. "Oh, no, I am afraid I have not, Commander. I assume you plan to put me there?"
"Only if you wish it, I mean--it would be rather precocious of me to put you somewhere you don't wish to be!!" Momentarily she realized that technically, Budehuc was not quite a place he'd rather be either. "And it's much nicer to see where you'll spend your time first!"
"Well, I shall trust your judgement Commander," Rahal smiled at her as they neared the ship. "I am certain you would not put me someplace you did not think I would appreciate as a room."
Careful not to trip over the uneven ground linking the manor to the boat, she paused curiously, looking around. "I think that the lower level would suit you better--the top level gets some nasty bouts of wind and cold, especially in the winter."
Rahal followed Cecile mildly, listening and nodded. "Which rooms are free then, Commander?"
"Hm..." The room across from Geddoe's older room was still open, but there was also a room open in a cozier corner. Dropping his hand, she ran ahead and motioned him over. "This room is nice because it stays warmer than most of the others. You'll be grateful when the winter comes!" If he stayed long enough to see winter, that was.
Rahal came over and opened the door, smiling at the room. It was slightly bigger, being in the corner, but was cozy. There was a desk, dresser, closet, and bed - more than enough for him. He stepped in and surveyed it. Yes, yes this would do. Add a few personal touches and he could be quite happy. "Thank you, Commander, this will do lovely," he beamed at her, saluting once more.
"I'm so glad to have helped! I mean, helpful helping is a sort of helping help that anyone should helpfully offer, after all, but this is the sort of help I think is very important!! For if you don't know where to go, how do you expect to find where you're going?" Her hands were a pink blur as she spoke, animatedly waving around to illustrate some metaphorical concept. "I have no spare maps at the moment, but when I get one, I think you should have it so you do not get lost!!"
Rahal had to concentrate very hard to follow that, but he did... for the most part. He smiled, nodded, and saluted once more. "I appreciate it, Commander.
"Do not mention it!" Cecile heartily saluted in return. "Is there anything else I can do?"
"Oh, I do beleive I am fine for now," Rahal assured her, but he was interuptted when his stomach growled, rather loudly, in protest to that statement.
"O-oh...." There was a brief, amusing pause. "S-Sir Rahal, have you eaten since you arrived at Budehuc?"
Rahal chuckled rather sheepishly. "No, no I have not. Flail was my main concern till just now!"
"You mustn't be so negligent of yourself!! If you do not take care of yourself, who will take care of Flail?" Ack--another bad move; you don't scold new guests! "I should have attended to that first!! I'm so sorry--we have a dining area in the inn and a cafe and a bakery."
"Oh, no, it is all right," Rahal assured Cecile. "Flail always comes before myself, but today has been such a whirlwind of activity that I forgot about eating. I was transported just before I was to have my meal before attending Council, and all the excitement just sort of made me forget that."
"Council? Not the Zexen council!" How awful that such a miserable bunch of pooped out old men would rush someone like the amiable Rahal through his meal!
Rahal blinked. "Oh, no, not the Zexen Council miss. I meant my Council. I may be Commander, but I seek advice from a circle of captains to help make my decisions. The Calvary Council is what I meant," he chuckled.
"Oh...” How could she have been so silly? Obviously the Zexen Council was far, far away and possibly in a different time from them.
Rahal laughed good naturedley. "Now, about food, Commander?"
"Of course, of course!!" She flustered and began to lead him out of the room, towards the stairs. "What sort of foods are you accustomed to?"
"Um... well, mostly everything," Rahal admitted. "I often have to eat from different countries in order to accomodate delegates or Captains who live on the borders."
"Then you are in luck! Budehuc has so many people from so many places that all the food comes from all over the place!!" She pondered where would be best for him to eat. "Have you seen the cafe or inn dining area?"
"No, Commander, I have not," he replied. "And I have to admit I have no idea where to find them either."
If only she remembered to pack that map! "I will guide you to the inn then--it is the closest, and you can't go without eating any longer or you'll waste away to nothingness!!!"
"Then lead the way, Commander!" Rahal saluted and followed her out.
