My son has been on prednisone before.
It is nasty but very helpful with ling issues.
You may bloat up a bit and you will be very hungry.
And yes, there may be mood swings but it does help the lungs.

I am so excited for you and Eros.
You have worked really hard and though I don't know you well I always enjoy reading your journal and keeping good thoughts for you.

prednisone? that's the big gun! why not an inhaled steroid like beclamethasone (flovent, beclovent)? Those are topical to the lungs and don't affect you systemically. Prednisone will make you grow hair, too. wow. I hope it is a short run. I have had severe asthma and they never gave me prednisone, though my mom has taken it for her asthma. Mostly before they had inhaled steroids.

a lot has happened in the year. The thing about old relationships is they just start right up again when you see each other. I have several friends I only see once or twice a year, and it feels just the same when I am there-- comfortable, familiar, despite the new hobbies or life situations. I hope that your life changes have cleared the way for good bonding between you. enjoy!

On the weight, on the gas - you are doing an awesome job!
Andy just bought a diet book that primarily tells you to eat mostly veggies and fruit and stay away from processed foods. I think we kinda knew that already, but maybe it will offer some insight.
I'm glad that you are making your goals and I'm glad that we're friends.
