i work on a simple principle around salespeople: waste their time until they want to sell you the car just to get rid of you. once upon a time, when i had more time to spare, i went into a car dealership and negotiated them down on a rav4 for a good four hours, then told them thanks for the info and left. i had one dude seriously trying to physically block my exit by standing in my way repeatedly. it was awesome.

I go in today at lunch and:
1. The warranty wasn't in the base price like they told me
2. The calculations on my trade-in were wrong.
That amounted to almost $3000 more added to the price.
I had even found a nice little 5.3% loan.
I told them no and left. But unlike you I think they were happy I was leaving.
My trusty little point-a-to-point-b has treated me well thus far. I wont send it to the car-auction grave yard. It deserves better.
