It's only been about two weeks, but I feel like I've been at UC Davis for a whole month. I've just been doing so much here. In those two weeks, I have done my first public performances with the marching band (including a halftime show), become a licensed bicyclist, applied for a job, been offered an internship, changed my course schedule, and

It totally sounds like that's a perfect town for you, and things seem to be going great. That makes me smile. :D Say hi to Claire for me!

If you want a really good pizza place near the school, check out Woodstocks. It's yummy.

And I guess it must be common amongst college students to feel like they've been gone a lot longer than they actually have, neh?
I hope everything is alright at USD for you. I know its been a bit of an emotional time for you lately (in regards in Mrs. Faridpak), but I still hope you're enjoying college and and your courses as well. So, sorry if I've seemed uncommunicative :-[

It probably is common if you like where you are. I mean, if you hate it, it would feel like it's dragging on forever and the days aren't going by fast enough. For me, feeling like I've been here so long makes it feel like home.
I love it at USD. Thanks for the concern in regards to Mrs. Faridpak and don't worry about the uncommunicative-ness. I took a short hiatus to adjust to college life; we're all entitled to it.

i'm so glad you're enjoying Davis! it sounds awesome! your class schedule sounds quite interesting- i'm studying poetry but i don't get to write it (which may not be such a bad thing considering i can't write poetry.)
the band-uh sounds like FUN! and yes, becoming a part of the community certainly brings more excitement and a sense of purpose, eh? :)
thanks for updating! it's good to here from you!

It was actually quite lucky for me to get into that poetry class - I think after I registered for it online, it became immediately unavailable to any more students.
I hope your own poetry class is going well...!

I'm glad to hear that everything is going so well! It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate but that you're having no real problem with balancing it. My parents thought I shouldn't take an internship first semester freshman year, but then the thing with NaNoWriMo came up and obviously I had no choice but to do it. If something like that comes up with CALPIRG, go for it!
Marching band there sounds awesome. Hopefully you'll be in Berkeley sometime so I can come out and see you perform! The badges and buttons on the uniform thing sounds like lots of fun, too.
Also -- you listed a poetry class and then said nothing about it? Shame on you! How's it like? Do you feel like it's interesting? How big is it? (Forgive me for being overly interested in anything writing-related.)
Glad to hear you're having a good time, and I hope it continues!

And the reason why I've said nothing about the poetry class...is because I was only registered for it last Sunday! I feel like its interesting so far, the professor (though she doesn't call herself that) is pretty eccentric, but in a good way! There's about 25 people in it, so its a pretty small class, and I'm very glad I got in. As I spend more time in the class, feel free to ask me anything about what we've been doing in it!
