Ouch! That sucks! I'm sorry to hear that, but it's good that Davis has a system you can use to get around even with a broken leg. It's too bad about the Marching Band, though, but you still have so many more years at Davis to enjoy it.
And just as a joke, this whole thing was an act of God so you won't have to be there when we totally kick your ass next week! XDDD Totally kidding, but I just had to say it.
Nah, that's alright; UC Davis's football team has already been disappointing for me.
And I expect to be back in marching band stuff later this school year. There's plenty other things for us to do besides football games. I don't know if you know about Picnic Day, for instance...
I get to play at my first basketball game tomorrow...woo! Hooray for the 10-piece USD pep band! XD I'm the only Clarinet, well, besides Jacob when he decides to play and one of his adult friends.
Wow... You sound brave, but I now that can't be fun... the pain mixed with the inconveniences and the things you missed out on. You'll find good things to do with your time, though. *hugs* Here's to hoping your leg heals quickly!
Thanks; I hope my leg heals quickly too! And I'm trying to be brave, but who knows what state I'll be in the more I have to live with my soft cast and crutches.
Oh my gosh Richard! I'm so sorry to hear this! ='( I know broken bones are no fun, especially when they cause us to miss our events and such. Such a pain, literally and figuratively... I hope it stops hurting soon, but don't forget, even if it doesn't hurt anymore, it DOES NOT mean that it's healed. Take that from me, with the broken toe... Don't prolong the situation by thinking it's cool and ditching the crutches and such. And most importantly, and I know you, let people help you. Please. Sometimes a little extra assistance, especially when you're just getting used to it, it really helps, and frankly people expect you to need help and they are more than willing to assist, so let them. Once again, it can help you to heal faster, which we've already agreed is good. =) If you ever want to call me and talk, you know my phone line is always open no matter the time. And in case you were wondering, that suggestion has always been in effect, not just after today-so call me! =D Ok i've written enough. Miss you! Good luck!
Richard.. I saw your mom at the football game tonight and she told me. That's just 100% terrible.. Expect a call some time tomorrow! I don't know your schedule or anything so.. if I call in the middle of a class or something.. sorry!
That's so awful, I'm sorry! Make sure to get plenty of calcium and your D vitamins; it will help your body re-coup. Also, let people help you. People really do want to help you, so figure who is willing. Most people will let you know straight off if they will or not. And, finally, contact your teachers immediately via email. Let them know you've been injured badly and that you might require some special accomdation in class (sitting up front or soemthing). Also, it will let them know that you will be disabled and that it might prevent you from arriving in such a timely fashion. Additionally, it will let them know that you are still interested in class and stuff and that you're not ditching.
Yeah, I definitely need to contact my teachers. I don't think I'll have a problem with getting a seat up front in class, but I already need to make a few arrangements regarding the classes I've missed. Ugh, this is one of the uglier things about getting injured while at school... Thanks for all your advice.

I probably should call you sometime. Maybe we should do something together if we find both of ourselves in SoCal.
