First Month Wrap Up

Feb 01, 2020 13:06

My resolutions are holding.

After what felt like the LONGEST MONTH in history, we’re finally into February. I counted my calories every day, made healthier choices, and lost 10lbs. Which doesn’t sound amazing, but I also had several cheat meals along the way. This month I’m kicking it up a notch, I’m going back vegetarian and getting a gym membership. A few years ago I started eating meat again, I don’t know if it was societal pressure, convenience, or both. But it was the WRONG decision for me. So after spending $150 on groceries yesterday, I’m ready. I highly recommend watching the documentary, “The Game Changers” on Netflix, it’s highly educational, with lots of scientific proof of the benefits of living a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle.

I feel like my art has improved drastically in just a month, the purchase of an iPad + Procreate being the biggest reason. I need to stay focused and continue to practice both digital AND physical formats to really perform at an optimal level. I feel like I have years to make up for. I purchased a portfolio so that once I have some decent pieces I can assemble them and start seeking a tattoo apprenticeship.

I achieved 26 days of French lessons on Duolingo, which I’m proud of, but that also means I missed 5 days somehow. I need to kick it up a notch and get better at it this month.

I planted Sweet Basil, which is leafing out nicely, and Rosemary which hasn’t budded out yet. I still have my pepper seeds to plant, but will need a larger container before I can move forward.

Next month on the 20th I’m getting a large tattoo dedicated to the Hannibal TV series, I’m planning on it covering most of my upper right leg, so I’ve been slowly going back through the show.

I almost exclusively do gaming on my Switch now. I finished the story mode in Battle Chef Brigade Deluxe and am now enjoying the daily challenges. I’ve successfully obtained 3 shiny Pokémon in Shield: Pumpkaboo, Litwick and Mimikyu. I’m working on Duskull right now, this is the first time I’ve ever done shiny hunting in a proper Pokémon game.

I’m casually searching for a part-time job, but making it to where improving my art is my real job. For as long as I can afford it, anyway. We’ll see what this month brings 🤞🏻
