Congrats! I really wish I liked running... I make myself do it at the gym, but it is not my favorite thing.

Good luck! :D

Ok, after our comments exchange on guns I had to peek at your journal... and am in need of good reminders to focus on eating healthy and more importantly working out on a regular basis, so I thought I'd add you. We even share some comics in common. I am reading Something Positive and Two Lumps. I'd recommend checking out YAFGC as well...

I ran track in 7, 8 and 10th grade. Ran something different every time... hurdles and quarter mile one year, the two mile and two mile relay the next year and I think high jump once... Sounds like your new lesbian friends are awesome and will help you stay motivated for the half marathon, too. I like running. I lost some weight doing a virtual 300 mile run about a year and a half ago, then stopped... so the weight is coming back and I'm not so happy about that... so I'm also in the process of rededicating efforts to being a better more fit me.

I'm still resisting joining Facebook and Twitter so far. Have had a lot of urgings to join Facebook lately though [wry grin] I like LJ land.

facebook is nice because its one-liner updates and commenting features work well. there are little applications you can add to your page/profile that are great for wasting tons of time.

i have yet to get into twittering. i doubt i will - though the penny arcade comic on it is VERY funny. lemme see if i can dig up a link.
