Bianchi's throat ached from all the abuse she was putting it through, her normally low smooth tone was a little scratchy now and so she found herself walking up the stairs to the outside of the ship with a mug in one hand, a sucker tucked behind her ear and a basket of fruits mail ordered from home balanced against her hip with her other hand. She squinted in the sunlight as she emerged on the deck and looked around, spotting the table after a moment and moving to join the man already working. She set the basket down out of the way and sat at the table, sipping from her mug as she observed what he was doing.

It was interesting, having been here for quite a few days already and sometimes it seemed she was still just barely meeting people. She held out her free hand to him in greeting. "Sorry to keep you waiting."

Norland looked up and smiled when he saw her. He straightened himself and extended his hand to meet with hers. "It's quite alright. I was just getting started." He gestured towards the colorful pile of fruit and the alchemy circle he had just finished touching up.

"Now then." He clapped his hands together. "Let's get started then." He noticed the basket she brought with her. "Ah, what have you got there?"

She took a sip of her drink and started to pull fruit out of the box. "Olives, Italian Figs, Pomegranates and Wine Grapes." She explained, setting them down. "I hope you don't mind."

She leaned over his work a little. "So how does this work then?"

"Fine specimens you have there." He chuckled. "Of course I do not mind. This is an experiment after all." He cleared his throat as he began to explain the mechanics of the transmutation circle.

"The objective here is to first understand the molecular composition of the subject at hand. Then the next thing is the decomposition in which all bonds in the substance are broken through the use of alchemic energy. The final step is the reconstruction in which those atoms are reconstructed into something new." He paused for a moment, hoping he would not confuse her. "Most of these fruits weigh about the same, so we should be fine. Also, the skill level that this Edward Elrich has made him quite an exceptional alchemist, so I wonder just what sort of creations we will have."

He glanced around, thinking of a good one to start out with. "Ah, this should do." He picked up an orange and glanced at the pomegranates in Bianchi's box. "How would you like to see how these two combine? I imagine it would taste really good and be very nutritious."
