Thanks. We're hoping for the best right now! The doctors have said that her prognosis is very poor, but she's going to Washington University Hospital in St. Louis for a second opinion. Fortunately, I was able to get her in to see one of the docs that I used to work for. If their diagnosis is the same, she will be starting radiation on 12/26.
I know it's not necessarily a death sentence, but her family history is extremely poor. Both of her parents died (within 1 year of each other) of cancer. Then, she went to live her aunt and uncle and her aunt was diagnosed with lung cancer and was dead within a year.
Knowing that makes the whole situation more nerve wracking! Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts. They're greatly appreciated.
